Robert Day is the Owner & Executive Chef of The Faithful Pilot in LeClaire, Iowa. He is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute. At the age of 18, Chef Robert won best restaurant of the Quad Cities, at age 19 he won best restaurant in Muscatine, IA and at the age of 22 became owner of The Faithful Pilot and again won best restaurant the same year. His philosophy and passion is to bring in local, fresh, and innovative ingredients working daily to ensure only the best products to those who frequent his restaurant.
Chef Robert Day is changing the way people eat and see food in Iowa. “Nobody is doing food like this here.” “I want guests to come to the restaurant and have an experience not just dinner.” With menus changing weekly his innovation doesn’t ever stop. “There is pushing the envelope, then there is pushing the envelope in a small town, I just tell myself we aren’t in one and the food will speak for itself.”
