In 1991, The Faithful Pilot Cafe was opened by Steve and Nancy Rosetti, bringing a new fine dining option to the, then, quiet river town of Le Claire, Iowa. Nearly 3 decades later, Le Claire has grown to a thriving destination for tourists, fine and contemporary dining enthusiasts, and aficionados of wine and spirits. When Executive Chef, Robert Day, assumed ownership of the restaurant in 2009, his goal was to continue serving the traditional Faithful Pilot patrons and also offer options for the more adventurous palate. 

The Faithful Pilot's mission is to provide fresh, contemporary, high quality cuisine at a fair price. The chef and staff's top priority is to not only serve outstanding food, but to ensure that it's served in a comfortable and friendly environment.  We use locally sourced ingredients when possible and strive to ensure that our staff are well versed in every item on our menu, including our extensive wine selection.  

The Faithful Pilot offers two unique dining experiences. For those looking for a more intimate and elegant experience, we invite you to make a reservation in our 'back room' which features large picture windows where guests can enjoy the view of the Mississippi River and Buffalo Bill Cody Museum. For those looking for a more contemporary experience, we invite you to sit in our front room where our bar is located. The Faithful Pilot hosts some of our favorite local musicians every Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 as well as live music every "First Friday" in the bar area.

As part of our mission to bring new faces to Le Claire, The Faithful Pilot hosts a wide variety of events throughout the year. In addition to our wine tastings that feature 15 wines for $15, we also host quarterly wine classes where our wine curator teaches wine enthusiasts of varying levels of knowledge about the selected wines that we pair with featured dishes from our own kitchen. The Faithful Pilot is also home to the "Blind Kitchen", a head to head competition between two local chefs who have one hour to prepare dishes with three secret ingredients in the Faithful Pilot's kitchen.
